We are expanding our possibilities

Remember the old adage, “Good things come to those who wait?” Well, we have waited, fourteen years we have patiently waited for doors to open, and we could have a permanent space to call our clinic home. A permanent space that would allow us to expand our services, hours, and days of operations.

While patience has never been a strongpoint of mine, since taking on the leadership of the Healing Bridge Clinic in January 2018, I have worked with staff and board to build a plan to increase our offerings, provide more resources to those in need, and expand the volunteer opportunities for those who want to serve with us.

All of this has been done at an incredible speed and we have seen our overall growth reach an amazing 800% since the close of FY 2017. As we have grown, the need for permanent, unshared space has grown as well.

I’m happy to tell you that our dream of having a permanent space has become a reality. First Baptist Church of Peachtree City made the Healing Bridge Clinic the sole occupant of 215 Willowbend Road on August 1, 2023. With a long-term, 10 year lease signed and effective October 1, 2023, we begin to update the facility footprint to better serve our growth, patient needs, and have a place that we call our very own!

This is incredible news as we will go from shared space that looks like this:

And requires that we setup and teardown before and after each clinic we host to permanent space that will look like this:

that will allow us a permanent home, space for the needs of today, and give us plenty of room to grow for tomorrow. This new space accommodates our needs for the future, allows us the privacy we cannot have in shared space, expand our services with the addition of exam rooms, expedites patient care as the floorplan is much more efficient than the current facility, and provides for the technology needed for medicine today.

We could not be happier with this news, and we hope you are as excited as we are. We are putting the final touches on a three-phase campaign we are calling “Expanding Opportunities” that will follow our three-year strategic plan for clinic expansion and focus on five key areas:

With the facility piece secured, we are now focusing on the finance piece. “Expanding Possibilities” will provide you with details, including cost and timeline of each phase.

Be on the lookout for additional information and the final outline of our Expanding Possibilities campaign very soon. We are finalizing the set of prints, sending out for bids, obtaining the needed permits, and planning various ways to connect with our community to share this news and seek supporters for the campaign.
